District 833 cancels school, some after-school activities

South Washington County Schools Superintendent, Tom Nelson, has made the decision to close school on Thursday, Jan. 15, due to the extreme temperatures. All schools will be closed for students, all after school activities for elementary and 7th and 8th grade students will be canceled. The Woodbury Elementary orchestra concert has also been canceled and Lake Junior High conferences have been postponed; parents will receive new dates and times from the school.

All school games and meets will be held as scheduled and Community Education evening activities will be held as scheduled. However, all athletic and activity practices will be canceled.
