Middleton Elementary School raised nearly $6,000 to purchase gifts for its adopt-a-family program this year.

In the past, only third grade teacher Liz Brown’s class conducted a similar effort. This year, however, the program went school-wide.

“We kind of went all out,” Brown said.

Middleton students raised the money needed to purchase gifts by asking for donations from both family and friends of students, as well as staff members. “This is all our own deal,” Brown said. “It is so much better to give than to receive.”
