Again this year, families are invited to welcome in the new year at the annual New Year's Eve Celebration at Bielenberg Sports Center.
This event, geared toward families with children under age 12, takes place on Wednesday, Dec. 31, from 6 to 9 p.m.
There will be games, moonwalk, slides, an obstacle course, mini-golf, bingo, open ice skating, Woodbury Skating Club exhibition, DJ, live music and more.
The big countdown to 2009 and door prize drawings will be held at 8:30 p.m. This year's door prizes will be bigger and better than ever.
They include gift cards/certificates from the following sponsors: Sunsets, Papa Murphy's, Chili's, Key's Café, American Burger Emporium, Champps restaurant, Noodles and Company, and Heppner’s Auto Wash. Donations for the event include a three-month membership to Snap Fitness and a large gift bag from Trader Joe's.
There are many other exciting prizes that will also be given away.
This event is limited to 700 people and usually sells out. The cost is $8 per person if pre-registered by noon on Wednesday, Dec. 31.
Tickets are required for all participants age two and up, and may be purchased only through the Woodbury Parks and Recreation Department at City Hall. Register early, as this event usually sells out.
If tickets are still available, you may register at the door. The price will be $10 per person. Skate rental and concessions are available for an additional charge.
Bielenberg Sports Center is located at 4125 Radio Drive.
