King of Kings Lutheran Church light of international peace

The Boy Scout Transatlantic Council in Europe has brought the Peace Light Flame from the grotto manger in Bethlehem, the site Christians believe Jesus was born, throughout Europe and across the Atlantic Ocean to JFK International Airport, New York.

Members of Boy Scout Troop 113 in Bayport drove to New York to light their lanterns from the flame and returned with them to Minnesota.

On Dec. 14, King of Kings youth and children’s director, Laurel Bornholtz ignited her lantern in Bayport and delivered it to King of Kings. The light will burn at the church throughout Advent.

Anyone from the community interested in receiving the flame from the International Peace Light is invited to bring a lantern to the church for lighting on Sunday, Dec. 21 from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m.

The church is located at 1583 Radio Drive, Woodbury.
