Holiday Train will roll in to nearby towns

The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will be making stops in Hastings, Cottage Grove and St. Paul on Friday, Dec. 12.

The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will be making stops in Hastings, Cottage Grove and St. Paul on Friday, Dec. 12.

The railroad company has trains visiting over 100 communities in seven states and six Canadian provinces to raise food, money and awareness for local food shelves.

The train rolls in adorned with holiday lights and decorations and features musical entertainment at each stop from the holiday-trimmed box car stage. Entertainers will include Shaun Verreault, best known as the virtuosic singer/ guitarist/song-writer for blues-rockers, Canadian favorites Wide Mouth Mason, and Juno award-winning singer and songwriter Melanie Doane.

The train is scheduled to stop at the Hastings Canadian Pacific Depot, 500 East Second Street from 4:15 to 4:45 p.m.; in Cottage Grove in front of the Youth Service Bureau, 7064 West Point Douglas Road S., south of the Seiben bridge from 5:45 to 6:15 p.m.; and in St. Paul from 7:15 to 7:45 p.m. at the upper level of the Central Parking System ramp at Broadway and Kellogg in Lowertown. Bring your cash and food donations and support local food shelves.

All times are approximate as the schedule is subject to change. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early.
