The city of Afton has formally agreed to contract with its city planner’s company, Community Growth Institute.
According to the terms of the contract, agreed at a meeting on Nov. 18, the city pays CGI a monthly fee of $900 in return for 10 hours of planning services, unlimited phone assistance to Afton staff and officials and make pages on the CGI website available for public access to city planning documents, agendas and minutes.
Any planning services required above and beyond the 10 hours will be charged at $92 an hour from January.
At the Nov. 18 meeting, CGI was also officially appointed as the city’s planning partner in a $40,000 grant project awarded by the 1,000 Friends of Minnesota to help tackle the challenges of development in Afton.
