Sarah Powers and Sean O’Bannon

Sarah Powers and Sean O’Bannon were married Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008 at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Woodbury with Pastor Ted Vanderpan presiding. A reception followed at Afton Alps.

The maid of honor was Lisa Powers of Woodbury, sister of the bride. The bride’s attendants were bridesmaids Amy Porath, Holmen, Wis., cousin of the bride; and the bride’s friends Beth Schrupp, Norwood/Young America; Shannon Novotne, Minneapolis; and Dawn Strohmeyer, Peachtree City, Ga. The flower girl was the groom’s niece Gabrielle O’Bannon, Des Moines, Iowa.

Best man was the groom’s brother John O’Bannon of Des Moines, Iowa. Groomsmen were Ryan Vandervelden, Ankeny, Iowa, brother-in-law of the groom; Matt Jackson, Milwaukee, Wis., friend of the groom; Eric Marquardt, Des Moines, Iowa, friend of the groom; and Adam Powers, Woodbury, brother of the bride.

Sarah received a degree in marketing and communications and is employed by Princess Soft Toys, Edina. She is the daughter of Lee and Sheree Powers of Woodbury.

Sean is a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps on inactive reserve and is employed by Murphy Rigging and Erecting. He is the son of Linnea O’Bannon of Johnston, Iowa and the late John O’Bannon.

The couple spent their honeymoon at the El Dorado Resort in the Riviera Maya. They reside in Eden Prairie.
