Letter: Weik grateful to county voters

I want to express my sincere appreciation to my fellow Woodbury residents who elected me to the county board on Nov. 4.

I want to express my sincere appreciation to my fellow Woodbury residents who elected me to the county board on Nov. 4. I am humbled by the strong support I received in the general election and consider it an honor and a privilege to represent you.

Thank you, also, to the many campaign volunteers who gave of their time, talents, and energy toward my election effort during my first run for public office. I couldn’t have done it without your support or without the unwavering support of my wonderful and dedicated husband and children.

I look forward to representing all the residents of District 5, as I serve the last two years of the late Commissioner Greg Orth’s four-year term, when I take the oath of office on Nov. 18.

And I want to express my sincere appreciation to my opponent, Cheryl Hurst, for running a clean, issues-based campaign. I am grateful to have debated relevant issues in public formats for citizens to cast an informed vote. Cheryl Hurst has my respect and admiration for her 12 years of committed public service as our former city council member and I value her input on issues.

As your county commissioner, I will be a dedicated, hard working, community-oriented and engaged representative who will use a common-sense approach to solving issues. And I welcome the opportunity to work with our city leaders to continue partnering on challenges for the betterment of our city and county.

I am here to represent you, so please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns at (651) 714-1599 (home) or (651) 430-6215 (office) or e-mail lisa.weik@co.washington.mn.us.
