The Woodbury Heritage Society has a holiday gift idea for anyone living in or having lived in Woodbury. The society’s 2009 “Calendar of the Historic Barns of Woodbury” will inspire you to imagine the past of the property surrounding your Woodbury residence and travel back in time as you consider the acres and acres of farmland of Woodbury’s past and present.

Photographed by Bill Schrankler, who has since become a Woodbury Heritage Society board member, each month is illustrated by a different Woodbury barn, photographed in a seasonal setting, and includes the barn’s location and a brief history. Most of the barns pictured are still standing although a few have been razed.

The calendar, which opens to 11 by 17 inches, is available by mail for $11.50. Check or money order payable to the Woodbury Heritage Society should be sent or delivered along with your name, address (including city and zip code), telephone number and, if you like, your email address, to Woodbury Heritage Society, Woodbury City Hall, 8301 Valley Creek Road, Woodbury, MN 55125.

Order forms may be downloaded through the society’s website at www.woodburyheritage.org. Information is also available by calling (651) 714-3564.
