“The Sound of Music,” one of the world's most beloved musicals by Rogers and Hammerstein, will be produced Nov. 7 to 30 at the Phipps Center for the Arts, 109 Locust Street, Hudson, Wis.

A total of 12 performances will be given, on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Widowed Captain Von Trapp (Mark C. Koski, Lakeville) employs Maria (Erin Duffy, Minneapolis) as a governess to his seven children (Kinsey Novotne as Gretel and Evan Nelson as Kurt, from New Richmond; Maddie Roth as Brigitta, Jordan Huber as Louisa, and Brian Erdrich as Friedrich, of Hudson; Scarlett Thompson as Martha, of St. Paul; and Megan Gilbertson as Liesel, of Minneapolis.)

The cast includes Hannah Halvorson as Sister Berthe, David Keiffer as Franz — as well as Anne McNaughton and Kris Carlso as nuns, from Woodbury. Rachel Ward as Sister Sophia and Diane White as a nun are from Stillwater.

“‘The Sound of Music’ is simply the best-known music theater work there is,” said director Bob Neu.

“We've been blessed with a large cast of very talented and extremely hard-working people who have the singular goal of offering our audiences the moving and emotional experience they expect from this great classic.”

Tickets are $23 for adults and $16 for all students with a current ID, with a $2 discount for the opening weekend, and a $2 discount for seniors for the Sunday matinees.

Reservations may be made by calling the Phipps ticket office at (715) 386-8409 or online at www.ThePhipps.org.
