Letter: Swails qualified to be our state legislator
Qualifications do matter when electing a state legislator.
Qualifications do matter when electing a state legislator. The problems we face as a state are simply too big to entrust to someone with inexperience. That is why I am voting to re-elect Marsha Swails as Woodbury’s state representative.
Marsha’s resume is simply stellar: award-winning teacher at Woodbury High School, vice-chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, recipient of the 2008 “Guardian of Small Business Award” from the National Federation of Independent Business, former state advisor of the Minnesota Association of Honor Societies, member of numerous boards and commissions including the high school redesign committee, active member of King of Kings Lutheran Church, master in fine arts in writing — the list goes on.
Marsha also is not a “one issue” candidate. She has worked on topics ranging from property tax relief to education funding to road and bridge safety to affordable health care. Marsha understands that our state faces a multitude of challenging problems that require skilled leaders.
Marsha Swails is a highly-respected, well-known, experienced and intelligent public servant who we are fortunate to have representing us at the State Capitol. I am honored to vote for her on Nov. 4.
