Letter: Everyone urged to vote for Bunn

I attended one of the debates between incumbent Representative Julie Bunn and Mrs. Kathy Lohmer who both want to represent District 56A. The contrast could not have been starker.

I attended one of the debates between incumbent Representative Julie Bunn and Mrs. Kathy Lohmer who both want to represent District 56A. The contrast could not have been starker.

Mrs. Lohmer is no doubt a nice person who loves her family, but she does not appear qualified to serve in the challenging arena of the Minnesota legislature.

Rep. Bunn, on the other hand was impressive with her grasp of the issues and solutions to our problems here in 56A and in the state.

In fact, she has an outstanding record for a first term legislator.

Some of her accomplishments include fighting successfully for property tax relief, authoring the 2007 and 2008 innovative and cost-reducing healthcare reforms that were signed into law with huge bi-partisan support, and working to bring $800 million in new money to our schools, all without a tax increase.

She also has worked hard to solve the problems of PFC pollution in our area, authoring and co-authoring several successful bills to address the problem.

Also Rep. Bunn stepped up to support prioritizing and funding a new Stillwater bridge, moving the construction date from 2024 to 2013.

Mrs. Lohmer has stated publically that she would fight to repeal this funding, as well as that for the Hastings Bridge and new lanes on I-494 in Woodbury.

I urge everyone to be sure to vote on Nov. 4. Please cast your vote for Julie Bunn to represent us in District 56A.
