Letter: Vote Rebholz for city council

I am writing to you with the hope that Woodbury citizens will cast their vote for Paul Rebholz for city council.

I am writing to you with the hope that Woodbury citizens will cast their vote for Paul Rebholz for city council. I have known Paul for ten years and I feel he is dedicated to making the city of Woodbury the place we all continue to want to call home.

For nearly 15 years I was very involved with the Woodbury Athletic Association's baseball program, including coaching teams. Paul was a coach as well and over the years my team played against his many times.

One year my son even played on Paul's team and it was a great experience for both the parents and the kids. I learned firsthand that Paul makes a positive impact on the young lives of these kids. Paul is competitive but he also understands that coaching is a learning experience for both the player and coach.

As the former director of WAA's in-house baseball program I encountered parents who requested their child not play for a certain coach due to a bad experience.

On the flip side, Paul is one coach many parents requested because of his coaching style, demeanor and ability to communicate to the players and parents.

When I resigned as baseball director, I lobbied Paul to take over my position because he is someone who gets things done. I talked with Paul at length about it, but in the end, his dedication to being a city leader on the council was important to him and he didn't want his commitment to heading up a baseball program to interfere with his commitment to the City of Woodbury. I respect that.

He is a valuable asset and leader in this community. He can coach my son any day.

I would ask that all of you support Paul with your vote for Woodbury City Council.
