Letter: Hurst has a history of service
I have known Cheryl Hurst to be a dedicated public servant providing leadership to our community for many years. She has been willing to step forward on sometimes controversial issues such as affordable housing.

Today, the merits of having housing stock that serves a full continuum of needs, from executive to workforce to seniors, is well understood.
But, it was a controversial issue when it was first introduced in Woodbury. I served with Cheryl on the Housing Task Force as we struggled with developing a plan that appropriately distributes affordable housing across our community.
The policies developed by the city with Cheryl on the city council continue to serve us well today. Many of Woodbury's children are grown and now buying their own homes in Woodbury.
Without those affordable units, living in the community that they grew up in would not be an option for many of these young people.
I encourage the citizens of Woodbury to give consideration to voting for Cheryl Hurst for Washington County Commissioner.
Her history of service in Woodbury bodes well for her continuing to play a leadership role on the board of county commissioners.
