Letter: Lohmer - Move to Minneapolis

Just a few days ago, I received a piece of literature supporting Kathy Lohmer from the Republican Party of Minnesota.

It stated, “It’s not fair. We receive nearly $5,000 less per student than other schools.”

The piece does a comparison between our schools and schools in Minneapolis.

It is a fact that the Stillwater Area Schools are known for quality and performance.

All these years, I have been telling friends about the Stillwater Area Schools. I guess that I should have told them to move to Minneapolis.

I was looking forward to sending my children to Stillwater High School but according to the Republicans that's not a good choice. I don't understand why parents continue to move here or stay here.

If Kathy Lohmer and her Republicans friends really believe the school-funding differential was unfair, they would have already moved to Minneapolis.
