Senior citizens form a ring of unlikely thieves in “70, Girls, 70,” a musical comedy opening Oct. 24 at Lakeshore Players Theatre.

With music by Kander and Ebb, composers of “Chicago” and “Cabaret,” area actors portray retired vaudevillians who regain their zest for life as they band together to save their retirement home from the wrecking ball.

The show runs through Nov. 23, with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Audiences are invited to attend an opening reception Oct. 24 immediately following the show to meet the actors.

On Sunday, Oct. 25, limited "pay what you can" tickets will be available at the door one hour prior to show time, plus there will be a post-show discussion with the audience.

All performances are at Lakeshore Players Theatre, 4820 Stewart Avenue, White Bear Lake.

Tickets are $18 to 20 and may be reserved in advance by calling (651) 429-5674. Remaining seats will sold at the door starting two hours prior to show time.
