Center to present child workshop
Occupational therapist Veronica Arens, OTR/L, will present an interactive workshop, “Intro to Sensory Processing,” on Thursday, Oct. 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Family Achievement Center.
The workshop is designed to provide education and home programming ideas to parents and caregivers of children who may be struggling with “sensorimotor” challenges.
Cost of the workshop is $20 per individual or $35 per couple. Advance registration is required — call (651) 738-9888.

Terzian re-elected to MMA board
The Minnesota Medical Association has reelected Charles G. Terzian, M.D., to serve another three-year term representing the East Metro District on the MMA Board of Trustees.
The board of trustees manages the affairs of the MMA between sessions of the House of Delegates.
Terzian practices internal medicine at United Hospitalist Services with Allina Medical Clinic in Woodbury.
He has been on the MMA Board of Trustees since 2002 and is a member of the following MMA committees: ethics and medical legal affairs, legislation, and administration and finance.
The MMA is a professional organization representing about 10,000 physicians, fellows, residents, and medical students in Minnesota.
The election was held Sept. 19 during the MMA’s 155th annual meeting in St. Paul.
Author Flynn back at Borders
Vince Flynn, a bestselling author of nine thrillers, will be at the Borders store in Woodbury on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.
Flynn, who lives in the Twin Cities with his wife and three children, will discuss his new book, “Extreme Measures.” Following the discussion, he will be available to autograph books.

SE Area YMCA Kid’s Day Out
The Southeast Area YMCA in Woodbury offers a Kid’s Day Out program at Woodbury Baptist Church for children ages one through five.
The program meets Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Kid’s Day Out offers a basic preschool curriculum, conflict resolution, problem solving and more in a values- based environment.
Pre-registration is required for Kid’s Day Out.
The YMCA Kid’s Day Out program is open to the community.
YMCA membership is not required for participation.
