There’s a cat crisis brewing at the Animal Humane Society in Woodbury and you can help.
That’s the message from staff at the Hudson Road animal shelter as they struggle to find room to house all the cats which have been brought in over the summer.
Across the Animal Humane Society’s five locations at Woodbury, St. Paul, Golden Valley, Coon Rapids and Buffalo, almost 10,000 cats were brought in over the summer, with an average of 76 cats handed over every day last month.
“We really need help from people considering getting a pet. There are more than 350 cats at our five locations ready for adoption right now,” said Janelle Dixon, the president of the Animal Humane Society.
For more information visit the Woodbury location at 9785 Hudson Road to adopt a cat from noon to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.—6 p.m. Saturdays or 11 a.m.—5 p.m. on Sundays or visit the website www.animalhumanesociety.org.
