Community presentations to include updates on construction and transition issues

To ensure community awareness of the preparations leading to Fall 2009 when District 833 will undergo major changes as a result of growth, updates from the district are being shared every few months.

The next round of community meetings intended to update residents will be held at 6:30 p.m. on:

• Monday, Oct. 13 at Oltman Junior High School

• Tuesday, Oct. 14 at Woodbury Junior High School

• Monday, Oct. 20 at Cottage Grove Junior High School

• Tuesday, Oct. 21 at Lake Junior High School

Topics addressed will include:

• Status report on the construction projects;

• Update on the high school schedule

• Middle School preparation;

• The review of school start times;

• And other transition issues as we move toward the opening of school in the fall of 2009.

The meetings are intended to be information sharing. The district will also be using simple technology to gain important feedback on a number of issues being discussed and considered – including school start times.
