The Woodbury Heritage Society and the Woodbury Parks and Recreation department will hold the “Second Annual Antique Appraisal and Family History Event” Sunday, Oct. 5 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the amphitheater at Central Park, 8595 Central Park Place, Woodbury.

If you have a prized family heirloom or a bargain piece from a flea market that could be worth something, you’re invited to bring them for a brief evaluation with an appraiser. Items of a manageable, carry-able size should be brought to the event.

Bring several pictures of larger items, such as furniture. If it is a large item with drawers, consider bringing one along. The cost is $4 per piece, or three for $10. There is a limit of three items per person.

“Price It! Antiques and Collectibles,” an electronic research tool, will be available from 2 to 4 p.m. near the Central Park information desk. R.H. Stafford Library staff will demonstrate and have available for use at no cost, the online database which provides information for pricing and identifying art, antiques and collectibles. Price It! is also accessible by library cardholders through the library’s website.

A Woodbury Heritage Society members-only appraisals event will precede the public event from 2 to 3 p.m. Members will be allowed two items for free appraisal.

No preregistration is necessary.

For more information, call the Woodbury Heritage Society at (651) 714-3564 or the parks and recreation department at (651) 714-3583.
