Letter: Send Tinklenberg to Congress
I am writing this in support of Elwyn Tinklenberg for U.S. Congress.
I am writing this in support of Elwyn Tinklenberg for U.S. Congress.
Despite her claims of religious morality, the incumbent Michele Bachmann is a very conservative representative who was the only member of Minnesota's delegation who did not vote to fund to combat AIDS in Africa. Bachmann has also been one of the most partisan politicians in congress and in the state senate as well.
Tinklenberg, on the other hand, was endorsed by the “Blue Dog Democrats,” a group of moderate Democrats such as U.S. Rep. Collin Peterson, who typically vote more non-partisan-fashion and are not afraid to vote with Republicans on issues like guns and abortions.
More importantly, El will work more with local officials like mine and Afton's wonderful state senator Kaite Sieben and even with some Republicans.
Which is why I hope the residents of the sixth congressional district send Elwyn Tinklenberg to Congress.
