Kargel Park open house to be held

The public is invited to attend an open house Friday, Sept. 19 at Kargel Park, 9301 Tamarack Road, Woodbury.

The event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Kargel Park is one of the few Woodbury parks named for an individual or family.

Lucille Kargel, a longtime Woodbury resident, chose to sell her 15-acre property to the city of Woodbury instead of selling the land to developers. It was her desire that a park be created for use by Woodbury residents far into the future.

Visitors to the open house can greet Mrs. Kargel and enjoy a piece of celebration cake. They can also check out the park and its amenities.
