United Educators Credit Union (UECU) has again been acknowledged by Bauerfinancial Inc. for demonstrating “safety and soundness” by earning and sustaining Bauerfinancial’s “five-star superior” rating for 66 consecutive quarters.
UECU achieved this recognition by “exhibiting the best” in such areas as capital adequacy, asset quality and stability, and has done so every quarter for 16 years.
The “Sustained Superiority Status” is earned by fewer than ten percent of the nation’s credit unions.
“Credit unions might be one of the best-kept secrets in financial services,” said Del Danielson, UECU president and CEO. “We are structured to support the financial needs of our members, who are also owners of the credit union. So everything we do is in the interest of our members.”
Formerly MEA Credit Union, UECU was established in 1957 to meet the financial needs of school staff members and their families throughout Minnesota.
Today, with $90 million in assets, the credit union operates offices in Woodbury, Eden Prairie and Columbia Heights, serving over 11,500 members statewide.
