BID OPENING

Contractor's sealed Proposals for the 2009 East Ridge High School, ISD 833 – Bid Package #6 will be received by the South Washington County Public Schools, Independent School District No. 833, Cottage Grove, Minnesota, until 2:00 P.M., on Thursday September 11, 2008 at the office of the Superintendent of Schools, in Cottage Grove, Minnesota, in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared by Architects Rego + Youngquist, Inc., 7601 Wayzata Boulevard, St. Louis Park, Minnesota 55426.

Sealed bids will be opened publicly and read aloud at the above time and place. Bids received after 2:00 P.M. will be returned unopened. Faxed bids will not be allowed.

Separate bids will be received on the following divisions of the Contract:

Envelopes containing bids must be sealed, marked on the lower left-hand corner "Sealed Bid Enclosed" with the name and address of the bidder and the date and hour of the opening and addressed as follows:

BID SECURITY

Each bidder must accompany his Proposal with a Cashier's Check, Bid Bond or Certified Check equal to 5% of the amount of any proposals exceeding $25,000 payable to the Owner as a guarantee of prompt execution of the Contract in accordance with the Proposal and Contract Documents, and that he will furnish bond acceptable to the Owner covering performance of the Contract. Bids under $25,000 will not require a bid security.

DOCUMENT AVAILABILITY

Contract documents are available for review at the offices of the Architect and Construction Manager.

Bidders may obtain copies of Contract Documents from the Printer at the following location:

Prime Bidders may secure electronic Bidding and Contract Documents on CD for no cost or deposit by contacting Engineering Repro Systems (ERS).

Prime Contractors may obtain one printed set of Contract Documents from Engineering Repro Systems upon deposit of $125.00 per set, and a non-refundable shipping fee of $25.00 per set. Make checks payable to Kraus Anderson Construction Company. Documents requested to be delivered or shipped will be sent to the bidder via United Parcel Service (UPS) upon receipt of the deposit check and shipping fee.

Deposit will be refunded if documents are returned to ERS in good condition, within 10 days after Bid Opening.

Issuance of Contract Documents does not constitute acceptance or approval of any Contractor or product.

Contractors or suppliers who desire individual plan sheets or specifications may purchase copies at the non-refundable cost of reproduction and delivery.

PRE-BID MEETING

A pre-bid meeting will be held at the East Ridge High School Kraus Anderson Jobsite Trailer, 4200 Pioneer Drive, Woodbury, MN on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 2:00 pm.

BID WAIVER

Bids may not be withdrawn within sixty days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. The Independent School District 833, Cottage Grove, Minnesota, reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in bids.
