Animal shelter to host premiere
Animal Ark, a “no-kill” animal shelter in Hastings, will host the world premiere of the documentary “Left Behind Without A Choice” on Friday, Aug. 29.
Animal Ark, a “no-kill” animal shelter in Hastings, will host the world premiere of the documentary “Left Behind Without A Choice” on Friday, Aug. 29.
The movie will be shown at 7 p.m. at Carmike Cinemas, 1188 Helmo Avenue North, Oakdale.
The documentary shows the “animals’ and volunteers’ perspective of survival after Hurricane Katrina.”
The premiere day marks the third anniversary of the devastating hurricane.
The event is being sponsored by Chuck & Don’s Pet Food Outlet and Carmike Cinemas. Featured at the event will be “guest surprise celebrities,” a red carpet roll-out from limousine to theater, Katrina rescue dogs and Jason Davis and crew.
Tickets can be purchased at www.animalarksshelter.org.
VIP admission tickets cost $75. They include special seating, attendance to a catered reception after the movie and an autographed DVD of the film.
Regular tickets are $15, for seating at the “Left Behind Without A Choice” premiere.
Animal Ark is located at 2600 Industrial Court, Hastings.
