Primrose School to host bike rodeo

All children are invited to attend a bike rodeo, safety day and open house at the Primrose School in Woodbury to learn rules of the road, bike safety and more on Saturday, Aug. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

All children are invited to attend a bike rodeo, safety day and open house at the Primrose School in Woodbury to learn rules of the road, bike safety and more on Saturday, Aug. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The bike rodeo and safety event is offered as part of Primrose’s “Thumb’s Up!” program. The purpose of Thumbs Up! is to offer a daily assortment of simple, physical fitness exercises designed to strengthen young bodies and stretch young muscles.

Children at the event are encouraged to bring their bikes and helmets. All kids who participate in the event will be eligible to win prizes, including a new bike and helmet, and one of several prizes to be given away throughout the day.

Professionals from Penn Cycle of Woodbury will be on-hand for a professional helmet fitting and bike safety check. Children will be encouraged to visit a variety of stations to promote safe riding.

There will be a bounce house, ice cream samples, pizza samples and more. Linda Fliss, from Twin Cities Counseling will host a discussion on child safety beginning inside the school at 10 a.m.

The event is free and open to the public, all children age eight and younger encouraged to participate. Primrose School of Woodbury is located in the City Walk development, near Woodbury Drive.
