A joint powers agreement has been signed between Afton and West Lakeland township with regard to a truck school on Hudson Road.
The school, which will see part of its track lie within the township, while the lion’s share falls into the city of Afton, is an initiative of the Century College.
The joint powers agreement sets out the responsibilities and expectations of both governments in terms of ordinance enforcement and tax collection, among other areas.
Under the agreement, Afton is entitled to about 80 percent of the tax generated by the property.
