As long as Washington County is looking at a site in Woodbury for a new hazardous collection site, it will make plans for additional facilities on the site in the southern part of the city.
The county owns 20 acres at the corner of Cottage Grove and Bailey Road, at which the county’s south public works shop is located.
The city owns 20 acres to the east of the county site, on which it may build a fire station. In between is another 20-acre site.
The county will pay Oertel Architects $34,000 to create a master plan for the entire site, to show plans for a fire station, an impound lot, a new public works building, and any other facilities that the county may need, such as a burn tower or a brush drop-off site.
