Textile Day at the LeDuc Estate in Hastings

It’s been 120 years since the LeDuc daughters, Alice and Florence, established the Hastings Needlework Company.

It’s been 120 years since the LeDuc daughters, Alice and Florence, established the Hastings Needlework Company.

To celebrate their accomplishments, Friends of LeDuc of Historic Hastings and the Dakota County Historical Society will host a “Textile Day” at the LeDuc Historic Estate, 1629 Vermillion Street in Hastings on Saturday, Aug. 9.

The estate will be open for regular tours on Aug. 9 at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Admission fees will be $6 for adults; $5 for seniors and military personnel; $3 for students up to age 18; and free for children up to age 5 and members of Dakota County Historical Society.

There will be a presentation by Dr. Ann Braaten of the University of North Dakota at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Demonstrations and presentations are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served in the carriage barn.
