The 15 members of Afton’s Charter Commission will be meeting Thursday, July 10 at 7 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church on Neal Avenue.

Up for discussion will be the subjects of a public mailing to the citizens of Afton to inform them about the charter commission’s work and a review of the referendum and recall sections of the draft charter.

The commission was formed late last year and is working to compose a charter which will be put to a vote among city residents at the November election.

If a majority of residents votes in favor of the charter, Afton would become a charter city under Minnesota law.
