Woodbury Community Theatre will hold open auditions for the summer production of “The Velveteen Rabbit” at Woodbury Baptist Church, 6695 Upper Afton Road on Monday, April 28 and Tuesday, April 29 from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
Auditions are open for junior high school age youth only, who have completed seventh, eighth or ninth grade levels by June, 2008.
There are 11 on-stage roles. Callbacks will be held Thursday, May 1 from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
Interested persons should attend either the April 28 or 29 auditions beginning at 6:30 p.m. and plan to stay until 9 p.m. Auditions will be held in “open audition” format.
Participants will be given a short scene from the play to rehearse before they are called to audition. Persons need not prepare anything in advance but are asked to bring a personal photo to be used by Woodbury Community Theatre to identify them with your application, (it will not be returned), a schedule of time conflicts with the rehearsal and performance schedule and homework or another activity to do during free time at the audition.
All rehearsals and performances will be held at Woodbury Baptist Church. Rehearsals will be held Monday through Thursday, June 9 to July 11, from 12 to 3 p.m., with dress rehearsals July 14 - 17 from 5 to 9 p.m.
Performances will be held Friday through Sunday, July 18 - 20 at 7 p.m. and special performances for summer camp children will be performed on Monday and Tuesday, July 21, 22 at 1 p.m.
