Sellner joins Michael Lee team

Michael Lee Remodeling has added Gregg Sellner to its design and sales force.

He comes to Michael Lee with 10 years experience and a wealth of residential interior design and sales experience from positions he’s held with some premier firms in Minneapolis.

As a key member of the Michael Lee Design and Sales staff, Sellner’s responsibilities are to translate a client's dreams into reality.

In his own words, he enjoys combining the "personal aesthetics and lifestyle experiences of his clients into memorable interiors."

He and his wife Lori and two children live in the Brainerd Lakes Area.

Mayberry is CMN contributor

RE/MAX North Central has announce that Mara Mayberry, an associate with RE/MAX Results in Woodbury, has decided to become a Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) contributor.

To become a CMN contributor means that Mayberry has committed to contribute a portion of her commissions to the Children’s Miracle Network. CMN works with 170 children’s hospitals to help provide funds for care of kids with any affliction including cancer, pediatric AIDS, birth defects, accident trauma and muscular and cardiovascular diseases.

Locally, all CMN donations benefit Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare.

Gillette is a world-recognized leader in providing healthcare for children who have disabilities. It is an independent, not-for-profit hospital that has been caring for children for 110 years.

In 2007, Gillette saw nearly 21,000 children referred by more than 1,900 physicians from 41 states and 14 countries. In 2007, RE/MAX associates contributed over $172,000 to Gillette.

Fighting fraud and ID theft

Woodbury resident Beverly Gherity of the Better Business Bureau's Senior Outreach Program will show how to fight back against fraud, scams and identity theft at the upcoming fifth-annual Seniors Spring Show, April 2-3, at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel.

She will talk about the most common scams seen now, what people could and should know to protect themselves and who is most at risk.

Gherity will also be appearing on KARE-TV, "Minnesota Showcase" morning show, March 31, to address this issue and notify viewers that they can ask her questions in person at the Seniors Spring Show.

Metro Transit honors top drivers

Metro Transit presented 64 awards honoring the best Twin Cities bus and train operators at a ceremony March 19 in Minneapolis.

Awards were given to 19 bus operators for 25 years of safe driving. Two were named “Elite Operators” for 20 years of “top-notch” customer service, attendnce and driving, and five were named “Superior Master Operators” for meeting award standards for 15 years.

“Prestige Master Operator” status wa given to 16 operators for 10 years, and 22 were presented the “Master Operator” designation for five years of acheiving award criteria.

Awards were presented by Metro Transit general manager Brian Lamb and Mary Hill Smith, chair of the Metropolitan Council’s transportation committee.

“To most transit customers, their bus or train operator is Metro Transit,” Lamb said. “The ability of each of our nearly 1,400 operators to provide on-time, safe and friendly service is the single most important measure of our reputation in the Twin Cities.”

Among those receiving awards were the following:

Metro Transit is an operating agency of the Met Council. Customers boarded its buses and trains 77 million times last year, the highest annual ridership in 25 years.
