Kowalski’s Markets will launch a new approach to nutrition education in April at its eight Twin Cities locations. Good Foods for Good Health will teach consumers about foods they should be eating to promote good health in focused areas.
“We wanted to approach good health from a positive angle and talk about the many foods that can make a difference in building a strong and healthy body,” said Kris Kowalski Christiansen, chief operating officer, Kowalski’s Markets. “It makes perfect sense to have this educational dialog right where our customers are shopping, in the grocery aisles. The goal of Good Foods for Good Health is to offer energizing, clear information, tips and ideas so shoppers can make the best choices for themselves and their families.”
Good Foods for Good Health will guide consumers in finding healthful substances in foods that help them live well and be well. The program will focus on one health area at a time; the first focus is on building strong bones.
“Consumers are trying to eat healthier and are looking for positive information about nutrition,” said Susan Moores, a registered dietician and Kowalski’s partner in this program. “Building strong bones is our first health focus to kick off the program in April when we’ll highlight the hundreds of foods in the market that work to build strong bones.”
