Guinea pig are docile yet social creatures requiring daily attention and an unlimited amount of green grass hay.

Fun facts on guinea pigs:

• Guinea Pigs weigh only a few pounds and are larger than hamsters, but smaller than rabbits

• There are 12 recognized breeds of Guinea Pigs

n Most love to hide when they play, that’s while you’ll see igloos in their cage

• You can train a Guinea Pig to use a litter box

Guinea Pigs are one of ten types of animals available for adoption at AHS. In addition to them, dogs and cats, you’ll find birds, rats, mice, ferrets, bunnies, hamsters and gerbils.
