To Marsha Swails: Regarding the touted 33,000 jobs that the transportation bill is going to create, a quick check of the same federal study you guys are all quoting really shows that only 5,000 or 6,000 of those jobs would be well-paying construction jobs, the balance being supplier and general economy jobs not necessarily even in our state.
Also what part of that $8.3 billion do you propose to spend on accessible transit you so vaguely describe light rail?
Wow, and yet another 10,000 jobs created by the capitol bonding bill. I can't help but wonder, at what cost.
The DFL legislators continue to foster for more, more and more taxes, with never a thought or mention of a possible cut in spending. Why?
Regarding the legacy act, it seems to be a very poor choice to dedicate permanent funding to undefined requirements, that will surely change over time.
Do your job regarding these items, and don't push them off on a constitutional amendment.
