Biava Quartet to perform
The Biava Quartet will be visiting Stillwater Feb. 29 as part of the St. Croix Concert Series.
The Biava Quartet — a group that’s played venues ranging from Carnegie Hall to London’s Wigmore Hall, and from the Aspen Music Festival to the Pacific Music Festival in Japan — will be visiting Stillwater Feb. 29 as part of the St. Croix Concert Series. During their visit they will perform, teach and entertain.
The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 115 N. Fourth Street Stillwater.
Winner of the Naumburg Chamber Music Award and other competitions, the string quartet will be playing selections by Haydn, Kodaly and Edvard Grieg, Norway’s most famous composer.
During their visit, the Biava Quartet will give presentations at Oak-Land and Stillwater Junior High Schools and Lake Elmo Elementary School during the day on Feb. 28 and 29. They will also conduct a master class for student quartets Thursday evening at Croixdale in Bayport.
Reserved seats are $18 for adults and $12 for students. A limited number of $10 general admission tickets are also available.
