The Southeast Area YMCA- Special Olympics Team, the “Blazing Stars,” adopted soldier Tim Sartori for the holiday season.

Sartori is a company commander of Alpha Company for the 2-1 Aviation Brigade. He is deployed to Iraq for 20 months and has been gone since September.

His wife, Kristen Sartori, is a social worker and lives on base with their eight-month old daughter Avery.

A variety of items were donated by members of the Southeast Area YMCA. The packages were shipped to Sartori to share with his fellow service members during the holiday season.

The Southeast Area YMCA is committed to serving the needs of children and adults with disabilities, as part of its vision to build strong children, strong families and strong communities.

Towards that goal, the Southeast YMCA partners with Special Olympics Minnesota to sponsor the Blazing Stars Special Olympics Team.
