Could America’s next big coffee trend be brewing in your back yard? Coffee entrepreneurs and Woodbury natives Jeff and Diane Lewis say, “Absolutely.”

Sati Coffee & Cr?pes, 572 Commons Drive in Woodbury, is the new destination for gourmet coffee enthusiasts. Exceptional coffees imported from France, freshly prepared cr?pes, and specialty desserts are just a handful of details that complement the shop’s decidedly European ambience.

A grand opening celebration will take place Feb. 14, 15 and 16.

Scheduled events include:

• Daily drink specials

• Cr?pe specials each evening, 7 p.m. to closing

• Live music with Bill Hammond performing on Friday evening, 7 p.m. to closing

• Cooking demonstration — Making cr?pes at home, 2 p.m. Saturday

• Free long-stemmed red rose with any purchase on Thursday and Friday evenings

“Diane and I recognized the distinctive qualities of Sati the first time we tasted it. We knew instantly that we had to be part of Sati’s explosion in the United States. Our vision was to provide an environment that complements the full history of Sati Coffee,” said Jeff Lewis, director of franchise operations. “Diane and I met for the first time at a coffee shop and visited them often while we dated. We wanted to create the kind of cafe that we would have enjoyed; a date night destination with a little romance, great desserts and outstanding coffee.”

Sati Coffee always offers a variety of sweet and savory cr?pes. Try caramel apple cr?pe, (sautéed apples and Ghirardelli caramel), or a strawberry or Nutella cr?pe. Each cr?pe is prepared from scratch and made to order. Some special Valentine dessert treats will be added to complement Sati’s cr?pe selection.

Sati Coffee was first introduced to the United States in 2005 through high-end grocery retailers. Quickly gaining recognition with first place awards at the 2005 and 2006 Calhoun Square Coffee Festival, Sati has gathered a loyal following in the Twin Cities area. Today, you’ll find Sati Coffee at most grocery stores in the Metro area, including Simon Delivers.

While new to the United States, Sati is by no means new to coffee roasting. Sati Coffee has been creating exceptional coffees in Europe since 1926. Enjoyed in over 20 countries, Sati produces more than 20 million packages of coffee each year.

Expansion to additional select areas in the Twin Cities is planned for 2008.
