Marlene Kolars

Marlene Theresa Kolars, 75, Montgomery, Minn., died Monday, Oct. 1, 2007 at Queen of Peace Hospital, New Prague, Minn.

Marlene was born May 23, 1932 in Montgomery to Delores (Carroll) Lorence and Albert Lorence. She was a lifetime resident of Montgomery, a graduate of Montgomery High School and worked for the Montgomery Messenger for 14 years as a secretary. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary, Montgomery Garden Club and the Montgomery Welcome Wagon. She was a past 4-H Leader and Kolacky judge. She enjoyed reading, writing, gardening and sewing.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin Kolars of Montgomery; two sons, Chuck (Lynn) Kolars of Woodbury and Jack (Jane) Kolars of North Mankato; two daughters, Colleen (Darrell) Peterson of Waterville, Minn. And Karen (Steve) Lehmann of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a brother, Jim (Tilly) Lorence of Montgomery; a sister, Terri (Lloyd) Thielmann fo Dayton, Minn.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service was held Friday, Oct. 5, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Montgomery, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Montgomery.

Arrangements were handled by Schoenbauer Funeral Home of Montgomery.
