The Woodbury Warriors went on the warpath July 22 as the Classic League squad decimated Northfield 16-6 and 17-2 in a doubleheader at the Bielenberg Sports Center.

Woodbury trailed the Millers 4-0 in the third inning of the first game before exploding for eight runs in the bottom of the frame en route to a 10-run victory.

Dan Paulson took the victory in relief of starter Rick Forrest as Doug Berfeldt went 3-for-4 with four runs batted in. Outfielders Jeff Patterson and Dan Lundgren both walked twice and scored a pair of runs.

Steve Schneider cruised to a victory in the second game as the Warriors hit machine picked up where it left off. Infielder Pat Ryan launched a first-inning grand slam over the left field wall to spur on an offensive maelstrom.

Lundgren and infielder Tom Heimerman both went 3-for-3 from the plate with Berfeldt driving in four RBI, two on a home run.

Craig Quinlan also smashed a two-run home run in the 15-run browbeating.

The Warriors improved to 10-8 on the season, 9-5 in league play with the victories.
