Former teammates Jackie Hegg of Woodbury and Natlie Arcand of Park won the statewide Minnesota Swarm Community All-Star Award at the first-ever Mr. and Ms. Lacrosse banquet and luncheon recently. The award honors athletes for their work in promoting the growth of lacrosse in their community.
Hegg, a senior at Woodbury, and Arcand, a senior at Park, were both captains of their teams this past season and, according to their coaches, were the utmost leaders on and off the field.
The two standouts played on the same team together as freshman and sophomores as members of the Royal Pack, and were key members of the team that went to the state tournament in 2009, finishing in third place in the state. They also played together last year as Griffins for the East Ridge/Woodbury girls lacrosse team, before Arcand returned to Park for her senior season.
