The East Ridge wrestling team endured what was likely its toughest triangular of the 2010-11 season on Thursday, Dec. 9, as it took on fourth-ranked Hastings and perennial power Mounds View in a Suburban East Conference dual at Mounds View High School.

In the matches, East Ridge fell 81-0 to Hastings and 63-5 to the Mustangs.

The lone wins of the night for the Raptors were turned in by Reid Lyden, with a 6-1 decision at 103 pounds and by Reese Johnson with an 11-6 decision at 135 pounds. It was the first-ever varsity win for Johnson, who is a first-year wrestler.

Also of note, East Ridge junior Nick Bachmann, who is ranked eighth in Class AAA at 171 pounds suffered his first losses of the season — to fourth-ranked Jake Swenson of Hastings and seventh-ranked Richard Carlson of Mounds View. Bachmann fell 6-2 to Swenson and by pin to Carlson.

Next, East Ridge plays host to SEC foe Stillwater on Thursday, Dec. 16, at the Perch. The Ponies are ranked 16th in the state.
