Larger venue planned for Spanish Immersion meetingA second public meeting on proposed expansion of the Spanish Immersion program has been moved to a larger room.
A second public meeting on proposed expansion of District 833's Spanish Immersion program has been moved to a larger venue.
The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, in the Park High School auditorium. District officials earlier had planned the meeting for a large meeting room seating fewer people.
The first public meeting on the issue, held Nov. 23, drew an estimated 600 people to Woodbury High School.
People planning to attend the meeting at Park are being asked not to show up before 5:30 p.m. A sign-up sheet for people wishing to speak to the School Board will circulate beginning at 6 p.m.
The district also is asking people not to arrive at the school prior to 5:30 p.m. and to park on the east end of the building and use the activities entrance.
The district also is accepting feedback on the Spanish Immersion proposals on its website. Online comments will be accepted until Dec. 7.
