The Woodbury U12A girls hockey team is heading to the state tournament after finishing first in the National Regional Tournament.

Woodbury defeated North Wright County 4-0, Rochester 3-0 and Wayzata 4-2 in the championship to earn the No. 1 seed in the State Tournament to be held in Rogers, starting March 18 and going through March 20.

Since early January, the U12A Predators have gone 21-0 and have been ranked within the top five team teams in the state. This year, Woodbury finished first in District 8 at 14-1-1, won the District 8 Tournament defeating Hastings 3-2, Cottage Grove 5-0 and Lakeville South 3-2 in the championship. Team members are: Erin Cheatham, Anya Hafiz, Jordan Scollick, Katie Scheibner, Brooklyn Pierre, Maddy Werner, Kathleen Sparks, Tori Gruett, Kayla Gibbs, Megan Yoshida, Livia Twohig, Lindsey Featherstone, Anna Roth, Kim Taplin, Courtney Koemptgen. Head coach is Jim Pierre and assistant coaches are Taylor David, David Sparks and Jared Gruett.
