YMCA honors two from area
The Southeast Area YMCA was represented by two area residents named as award winners at the May 20 Annual Meeting of the YMCA of Greater Saint Paul.
Hannah Mumm of Woodbury was awarded the 2007 Youth Service Award at the event. "Many become leaders with age and experience. Hannah has an innate gift of leadership. She is a great speaker, confident, humble, kind and responsible. Her activities are numerous, including Youth in Government Model Assembly, Day at the Capitol and Y Partners. Beyond that, Hannah mentors and tutors other students and is a great role model," stated a YMCA representative.
The late Stan Allison, Cottage Grove, was awarded the 2007 Distinguished Leader Award. Allison, according to information provided, "was an ambassador for the YMCA and all that our mission stands for. As an active member, generous donor and willing volunteer, he was always on hand to share his exceptional talents wherever there was a need. We lost Stan to a long battle with cancer and dearly miss his positive attitude and bright spirit."
