• What to expect at the ER: Monday, Oct. 13, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Woodwinds Health Campus in the Auditorium, 1925 Woodwinds Drive, Woodbury.

Speakers will include Robert A. Sicoli, MD, Pediatric Emergency Medicine Lead Physician at Woodwinds and Amy Wynia, Child Life Specialist, Woodwinds Child Life.

Why does it seem like you have to wait so long to get your turn?

A pediatric emergency room physician will explain the flow of the ER. As well as discussing the types of accidents and injuries that are common for children seen in the ER.

He will focus on knowing when to seek emergency care versus when to go to your family physician.

A Woodwinds' Child Life specialist will discuss way to help with your child's fear and anxiety while in the ER.

• What does wellness mean for your child?: Thursday, Nov. 6, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Woodwinds Health Campus in the Auditorium.

Beth Dierkhising, RD, LD, certified personal trainer, Woodwinds Ways to Wellness, will be a speaker.

Learn how you can encourage your child to be more active and on the move with less "screen-time."

A registered dietician/certified personal trainer will discuss how to incorporate fun activity and healthy and delicious food into your family's daily life. She will also discuss how to set goals as a family that focus on making healthy decisions that will last a lifetime.

These free seminars are made available by gifts made to the HealthEast Foundation by John G. Fee and others.
