Woodbury's Lillie named 'One to Watch'
A politics-based website sees a rising star in Ted Lillie.
The Republican senator from Woodbury was named "One to Watch" Tuesday, July 10, by Politics in Minnesota, a website that tracks political activity in the state.
Lillie became Senate majority whip in his freshman year and serves as an assistant majority leader. According to a news release issued Friday, Lillie was the first freshman to be named Senate majority whip in state history.
"I am honored by the selection. I believe the people elected to the Minnesota Legislature with me in 2011 were chosen to serve at the Capitol because Minnesotans took a look around and decided the direction our state government was headed in needed to change," Lillie said in the release.
He will face Woodbury Democrat Susan Kent in the fall elections.
