Woodbury playwright's work to be performed Sept. 27

A play based on the life of a children's book creator is set for a performance Saturday, Sept. 27.

"Live to Draw," a play written by Woodbury playwright Wendy Storm, takes a look at the life of New Ulm, Minn. native Wanda Ga'ag, who created the story book "Millions of Cats."

Storm, who has adapted the play from the letters and diaries of Ga'ag, describes the work as, "The story of a small town girl who makes an international name for herself through hard work, perseverance and a unique imaginative spirit.

"Meet Wanda's wide circle of friends and family who guide her along the way.

"This is a warm, magical, dream-like play, set right here in Minnesota."

The play "Live to Draw" will be performed on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 2 p.m. at the Virginia Street Swedenborgian Church, 170 Virginia Street, St. Paul.

Entry is free, although donations (suggested at $10) will be accepted.
