Woodbury man allegedly brandished handgun in threat case
A Woodbury man appears in court today on charges that he threatened another man with a handgun.
Thomas John McGillis, 47, was charged with terroristic threats - a felony - after a July 10 incident at a Woodbury home.
The charges stemmed from an incident at McGillis' residence.
A criminal complaint states the ex-husband of McGillis' wife came to the residence that day to pick up a child.
According to the complaint, McGillis met the man at the door. The ex-husband picked up the child and brought her to his vehicle and returned to the door.
The complaint states the ex-husband attempted to speak with his ex-wife but was stopped by McGillis. The alleged victim told police McGillis then became belligerent and prevented the exes from speaking.
According to the complaint, McGillis produced a black handgun, which he allegedly brandished toward the ex-husband. The man told police McGillis threatened to "put a ... bullet" in him.
The alleged victim told police he left the area "quite frightened" and called 911.
McGillis was released on bond from Washington County jail July 13. Bail conditions called for a $5,000 bond, no contact with the alleged victim and no use or possession of firearms or dangerous weapons.
He was set to appear in Washington County District Court today at 1 p.m.
