Kreibich and Monkman, the fifth seed in the 32-doubles pairing field, beat fourth seeded Kelia Deming and Remi Larson of Stillwater 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) in the quarterfinals on Oct. 10 at the Baseline Tennis Center on the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis.

Kreibich and Monkman won three matches on the opening day of the tournament. The dynamic duo first beat Emily LaCasse and Amy Glaus of North St. Paul, 6-0, 6-1, then dispatched of Roseville’s Claire Lutter and Mook Soawaphapsopha 6-1, 6-3 in the second round before topping Deming and Larson.

Kreibich and Monkman, both captains of the Royals, earned the right to face the top-seeded Klass-Warch sisters from St. Paul Central on Tuesday, Oct. 15. A win would move the Royals pairing to the finals later the same day and earn the duo an automatic berth in the Class AA state tournament.

In other matches, Woodbury’s double team of seniors Greta Eisenrich and Angela Drehmel fell 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the opener against Norman and Roen of St. Paul Central. In singles play, freshman Mackenzie Schurhamer fell 6-1, 6-2 to No. 1-seeded Olivia Paradise from Mahtomedi and senior Shanna Stevenson fell 6-1, 6-1 to Roseville’s Sydney Munson in the first round.
